SMOOTHDOLPHINS SIGN CYPRIAN DURCANSKY TO CONTRACT
Young Slovak Hailed as a “Franchise” Player.

March 29, 2010 (BARRIE) - cwakes, president and general manager of the SmoothDolphins, announced Monday that the hockey club has signed goaltender Cyprian Durcansky (pronounced SIP-ree-an, Der-can-skee) in a deal with the Presov Red Wings of the Slovakian league.

“Cyprian is considered by many to be one of the best future goaltenders and we are excited to use him as the foundation in the future of our team,” said cwakes. “He has a unique combination of size and agility and we’re excited to add a player with his potential to our roster.”

“I want to thank cwakes and his staff for giving me the opportunity to play for the SmoothDolphins,” said Durcansky. “It is truly an honour and privilege and I feel very fortunate to wear the Dark Blue, Lighter Blue and White sweater. Barrie is a… nice city, with tremendous fan support, and I am very excited about the future.”

Durcansky is a 18-year-old native of Kocise, Slovakia.
