Canada Bizan HC† - Bizan HC Playoff Push is Still Alive

The Bizan HC boys pulled together for another closely-fought match against a league rival. The win puts BHC one spot out of playoff position, down by one point to the tied Sherwood Park All Stars and Seigneur de Soulange club.

The match today was a nail-biting 1-0 victory for the Visiting Bizan Hockey Club, a test of endurance, and fortitude. The loan goal came 2:16 into the second frame when Paul Illingsworth proved his value to the club who recently brought him up from the Youth Academy for the playoff push. Josef Maly again stonewalled the opposition for his first shutout in five games since joining the club.

The sixth-placed Juniors were no slouches. Maly turned away shot after shot on an early powerplay opportunity when Saulmanieks took a bad boarding penalty. GM Paul "Bizan" Bisanti noted that "When you ask a team to play their hardest against a fierce competitor like the Juniors, with playoff hopes on the line, you can expect things to get a little heated...and although I think Saulmanieks needs to be a little more careful with his finishing, I need the rest of the team to look to his energy as an example of how they should be playing at this point in the season."

BHC hopes to finish off the season strongly. With four matches left against competitors all vying for the last playoff spot, the race will undoubtedly be an exciting one.

In other news, the club unveiled its new jerseys that were trialed earlier in the season. Fan reception was so positive that ownership committed to strengthening the team identity permanently. The bold new colours hung proudly on the shoulders of a club who found their late season fire after playing a close home-and-home series with the III.2 League Guelph Gryphons. Those two exhibition matches inspired the club to put in tremendous effort in finishing the season strong.
