Thursday evening was everyway exciting in the Crybabies home arena. Team has been prepared long for their first international game and finally it was here. Opponent was no less than double-time Romanian Cup-winner Hoki Klub Szereda. Arena was sold out long before and arena was boiling again.

Game itself was very careful playing. Both teams tried to prevent their opponents goal scoring chances and were very succesful. First goal came as late as 34:42 when Crybabies own sports academy talent Jani Soukola found the net thanks to superb assist by still recovering Veli Pirttikangas. Soukola netted beautiful slapshot in front of the net, leaving no chances for the opposing goalkeeper. Finally the the built-up chances paid off.

Third period was a thriller as Hoki Klub Szereda pulled off their goalie in the last 2 minutes and pushed Crybabies back in their own end. Hoki Klub Szereda built an excellent chance for Iulian Amariei whos one-timer hit Petr Zdarsky in the hockey mask and Crybabies was saved. 1-0 win for Crybabies and first international points. Manager santar was of course happy after the game:

"What a thriller, what a thriller... I can't remember when I was last time this excited. But very valuable win for us. Team played well and disciplined. Zdarsky was as good as you can hope. If you don´t concede a goal, one is enough for a win."

Crybabies started their league season losing on monday on overtime and yesterday they hammered Turistit on their home ice 13-1. Todays CWC win surely gives some confidence for the team for upcoming league game tomorrow and credit tournaments on weekend. The start of the season hasn´t been so bad afterall that it first seemed.
