The Raging Pigs† - Pigs Retooling for Season 9
The Raging Pigs find themselves on the outside looking in at this year's playoff picture.
While the team fights tooth and nail on ice to secure first round home ice advantage in the playoff placement rounds, management is looking ahead to next season.
OUT WITH THE OLD...
The last standing original Raging Pig, Alexandre McTaggart, is on the market. Joining him are Boston Howell and Koby McLeary. They are the latest Raging Pigs to hit the market since Branislav Chara was released by the team earlier this season.
All 4 players were a part of the Season 6 III.11 championship team.
AND IN WITH THE NEW
Since selling off former starting goaltender Branislav Chara earlier this season, it has been clear that the Pigs were looking for a goalie. Ladislav Petr did a nice job as the interim starter for awhile, but after the 10-0 shellacking at the hands of Rebelles last Friday, it was clear that Pigs management had to act.
Today the Pigs filled the voided position with Stojan Cocievski, a 17 year old from Macedonia. The transfer fee was an eye-popping 36.4 million, but management seems pleased with the purchase.
"We got our man," said general manager PMullings. "We're thrilled to have added Stojan. We think he's going to do great things in the Raging Pig uniform for a very long time."
Cocievski is projected to get his first start on Monday against the Flying Frenchmen.
"We recognize that this is a tough situation to be thrown into [a game against the Frenchmen with home ice on the line]," said Coach Coddling. "We got the kid to play, not to watch. We're confident that he can handle it."
