10 year veteran journeyman goalie Ilmari Nevalainen has just joined the mudcats in a surprise move. filling the back up goalie position

Apparently it was on the recomendation of coach Ruks

" iv'e seen him play in europe a few times he's not going to make a great save or shut anyone out you don't even notice him in goal. but he plays his angles well knows when to freeze the puck and slow the game down, and doesn't give up many soft goals. he gives his team a chance to win if they don't make too many mistakes in front of him. Our worse case scenario for the season was if our first string goalie got injured near playoff time. Ilmari is a player who can fill that void now."

When asked if we can expect any more moves soon GM Ram said "not really we like the team we have, only piece we are loooking to add now would be an offensive defenceman for our power play."
