Brisbane - Early last week the sound of disappointed aggression could be heard coming from the 55's locker room. After a shoddy start to the new season, the 55's are not looking in a good position, and the coach took the opportunity to call out his team in the worse possible way... he sent half of them packing!

For the last 7 days virtually almost every player on the top 2 lines was shipped off to training camp to drill into them discipline, skill and most importantly, teamwork.

In place of his regular team, the coach put together a misfit team consisting of aged veterans, rookies and minor league players, a team some would say that should be have been worse on the ice than they were on paper.

Led by veteran winger John Blackman, this new team of misfits took on every game with pride and passion, and walked away with a surprising 4-2-1 record in 7 games, 2 of the victories league matches.

Blackman, who has made a very successful career from being a 2-way defensive forward on the 3rd line was given the chance to step up onto the 2nd line where he took the reigns, leading the team in scoring over those 7 games.

The players are now back from training camp and the coach has reassembled the old lines in a hope that the team has a new lease on life and a will to give it all to win games.
