Dunnville Mudcats - Ownership Change?
(AP) With the team's playoff disappointment less than 24 hours behind them the Dunnville Mudcats are already back in the news. Team owner Mike D'Agostino issued a press release from the People's Republic of China this morning announcing a preliminary deal to sell the Mudcat team to Chinese ownership. Describing the talks as, "slow, confusing and, at times unintelligible" D'Agostino said that, despite the poor crosscultural communication, a deal should be reached within the next day or two. The Mudcat owner assured Dunnville fans that the anonymous potential buyers planned to keep the team in Ontario for the forseeable future. The D'Agostino family has been rumoured to be in a difficult financial situation ever since fending off racketeering charges in three different countries. Unloading the money-losing Mudcats would raise necessary funds for the family to refocus their activities on their pizza empire.
