Jackson Jaguars† - NC: III.1's Final Team Looking to Stay Alive
The Sweet 16 round of the USA National Cup gets underway today. While six of the top ten seeds are still running strong in the tournament, there are two teams from League III still hanging around.
One team is III.11's Holland Land Raiders (30), who drew the overall 2nd seed, I.1's RED WINGS. The other is III.1's Jackson Jaguars (27), who drew II.1's Dakota Storm (13) and will play in the the Thunder Arena later today.
"There are hardly any teams left that you would 'prefer' to draw," said goaltender Douglas Head. "so you prepare for a tough fight no matter what."
This is the second trip to the Final 16 for the Jaguars, who lost in the same round last season 6-1 to League I.1's Americans.
"We would love to advance past the final 16 this season, but you need to take it one game at a time." said Jaguars' captain Ervin Brown.
"The parity of skill between teams in League II and III isn't as high as people think. We're about evenly-matched, so it'll be a good show for the crowd.
