The Irresistable Force won today's sweet sixteen game to secure their spot in the elite eight of the prestigious Champion's League international tournament. The game today was closely fought between the Force and last year's Champion's League winner The Steel Ants. After today's action all four of last year's finalists have been eliminated including the Yellow Tigers who played the Force in the round of 32.

"We haven't accomplished anything yet and it's only going to get harder from here on out" said team captain Alexander Fairchild when asked about the game today.

"I hope we're not using too much energy in these side tournaments" said team General Manager Leggman. "It's easy to get caught up in all of this stuff - we just finished the World Hockey League II, we're still alive in the National Cup and we have the Champion's League and it'd be easy to get distracted or burned out and end up too tired to compete in your actual league games, but we're still a young team and I'm hoping our adrenaline will carry us through".

The Force have scuffled a bit recently with a 1 overtime win, 1 tie and 1 loss in their last 6 games, but they have already secured home-ice for at least the first two rounds of their league playoffs and only need 2 more points to beat out the RED WINGS for the top spot overall.
