Yesterday the draws for the USA National Cup Quarterfinal were announced, and hopes for the last remaining League III team in the tournament have never seemed dimmer.

The Jaguars drew Irresistable Force, the top seed, and top team, in the USA.

When asked about the Jaguars' plans for standing a chance against the top team in the country, 4th line center Henry Mata would only say, with a sly grin, "Hope some of them get injured, of course!" A comment that earned him a whack on the head and icy glare from Head Coach Gavrilo Jovanikić.

Jovanikić then said something in Serbian that this reporter could not understand, but as Mata immediately dropped and began pushups, the player understood well enough.

"It's an important game, and we're glad to still be here," said captain Ervin Brown, "But win or lose, it'll be a good measure of our abilities."

He then joked, "Maybe we'll put Lindy (brand new rookie goaltender Russell Lind) in there and let him get some work!"

Jovanikić blurted something else out in Serbian, which prompted a sigh from Brown as he dropped to perform pushups.

The Jaguars have had a fairly eventful run at the NC this season, beating the Detroit Wreckers (III.5), the Detroit Barons (III.1), the Wiggly Pigs (I.1), the Danville Acolytes (III.1), and the Dakota Storm (II.3).

The Jaguars have outscored their opponents a combined 34:5 in this season's National Cup. Irresistable Force have outscored their opponents 35:13.

Last season the Jaguars fell in the Final 16 to the Americans of I.1, who finished 4th overall. Irresistable Force in Season 1 fell in the Final 16 to the overall 2nd place finisher, I.1's Psychos, who are slated to play the 4th seeded Hellraisers.
