Yes, this time around the battle really is just for 17th place and is far from glory.
But over the next 3 days the rivalry that defined the first 5 years of the Brampton Capitals existence will fittingly come to a head.
From the last days of season 1 when the ownership was transferred and the team changed from the Newmarket Lagerheads to Actus until midway through season 5 the ownership remained intact, with ownership backing out on the team this year, the final battle is without question, about to take place.
Brampton Capitals owner mrnegative15 reflected on the battle between the 2 teams "Over the past 2 years they seemed to have our number but we've had some serious battles. In season 2 we met in the quarterfinals and had a 3 game battle which they won, man that really launched to rivalry. In season 3 both our teams lost in the semi-finals so we ended up in another battle for 3rd place. Man that was a hard fought series too. To think what that could have been if it was the III.2 finals instead of the 3rd place round. It's funny to think that in season 4 when we started to rebuild this club, Actus met the Fedidt Rangers for 5th place and it started a new battle. The Rangers have been much more of a friendly rivalry to us, but it was almost a sign. We look forward to this final chapter".

The storied rivalry comes to an end once and for all on Friday.
