Vancouver Evil Jokers were up ended in a lop side affair by West Coast Express in league action today when they lost 8-1. The team manger didn't seem to fazed by the lop side loss and the fact that the team has given up control of the league lead in points.

"It was a disappointing loss when you loss in such a fashion but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that we were out classed by a team that is building a championship contender differently then we currently are." commented Team Manager, Robert Bouchard.

When asked to explain his comments Bouchard continued,"They have built a very good team around two main line through the transfer market much like we did last season. I didn't think this was the right way to head so I have switched to developing youth players through our Academy for a few reason; first being that it is much cheaper to develop a team then buy a team but this takes longer since you need to find the skills that you want to develop a team that you want plus finding the right coaches."

"We have been very luck to find two coaches last year that have really pushed the development of our players to the max, which has allowed us to switch to developing a youth team and younger players into our main team. It has also allowed us to develop our facilities which cost a lot and take a long time to build but we know it's better to complete such buildings in the early stages than wait until later."

We also asked Bouchard if he thinks his team has a chance at the Championship this year?

"No, After getting thumped like that today I am sure that West Coast Express have bought the championship or someone else will buy a few more players to take West Coast Express out but we will finish third or lower since our focus is more long term than the short term so I was surprised that we held first for as long as we have to this point. In the end every game counts so we will see what the play-offs bring since a surprise is never out of the question in this game!!" finished Bouchard as he politely refused to answer anymore questions.
