In a thight gretty battle, the Z-Panzers survive a third period scare to win the playoffs. The Elora Towers who pushed the regular season champs till the end, came inches close to tying the game and sending it to overtime.

With a minute left in the 3rd period and with an extra attacker on the ice the Elora Towers create a beautifull play to leave one of their big stars Timo Peltonen alone in front of the open net but somehow Vitaliy Deputat kept that puck out and as they say the rest is history.

Previously the Panzers had taken a two goal lead thanks to their big guns : Tobias Petrous 35 goals 66 points in the regular season and Michal Stanek 25 goals 51 points. But halfway through the 3rd The Elora Towers cut the deficit in half getting on the end of a lucky bounce.

Not to mention that the Z-Panzers had been stellar on special units. They somehow shut down the deadly power play unit of Elora Towers on four occasions, not an easy thing given the fact that they converted on almost all of their power plays throughout the playoffs.

The Panzers owner the great Henrik Zetterberg mentioned he was prowd of the teams willingness to battle and sacrifice and wishes The Elora Towers lots of succes in the years to come.
