Vancouver Jokers HC† - Season Preveiw: Vancouver Evil Jokers

Goaltending - Team General manger Robert Bouchard went to great length towards the end of last season to bring two experienced tenders to the crease this season by bring in 23 year old Miroslav Burák to be the start and 21 year old Ramón Sánchez to be his back-up.
The team still has three young developing goalies in 18 year old Josef Šíl, who as former start should contend for the back-up role as the season progresses; 16 year old Richard Rybár & 15 year old Quintin Derby, who is quickly being labeled the goal of the future by most in the team.
Defense - Once the teams strength but decision by Bouchard to let go of his aging players has seen the team really focus on developing defense from within with six player that are 15 years old ( Caleb Chan,Trevor Dorrien, Laurent Landon, Stan Oag, Edward Post & Jacek Bibrzycki) plus second best defenseman for last season in 16 year old Ján Pesch. Only other real change see 20 year old Juris Liepezers join the team to replace some of the lost experience of the departing players.
Look for the defense to improve as the season progresses.
Offense - No really offense changes to speak of with 17 year old Cédric Brule still expected to lead the scoring for Vancouver and with new line mate 18 year old Niklaus Vollborn, We should expect higher numbers from the young star.
The rest of the line-up see the offense with a mix of youth developing players and experienced players but expect the team to start looking for younger potential stars as the season progress.
Overall - Key focus for the team is to continue to develop at the same rate as last season with tight competition this year in a higher division expect less movements of players unless they fit the longer term plan for this team.
Managers focus will be on continue improvement of infrastructure to help the team push towards their long term future in their second full season.
