With the Jackson Jaguars' recent promotion from a stagnant League III.1 to an competitive II.1, the team has been streaky this season.

The Jaguars started Season 3 unbeaten in their first three, then lost 3 straight -- and are now on a five-game winning streak.

Behind the team's resurgence was the stronger play of goaltender Douglas Head, currently 4th in the league in SV% (90.88%) and 7th in GAA (2.55). In fact, coming into today's game, Head held the league lead in minutes played, having in appeared in all of the Jaguars' first 12 matches.

That all changed last night when Head injured his right miniscus in practice and is scheduled to miss the team's next 7 league games.

Enter 16 year old rookie Russell Lind, who already proved he can play in League II in the Jaguars' 4-3 win today over Skavenblight Eshin.

"We have a strong system in place," GM Craig Wall said, "where we know if we lose a player or two, even high profile ones, we will be okay. Lindy's practiced very hard all season, he's played in every one of our friendly matches so he's not ice cold."

The Jaguars are fortunate to face only two current playoff teams over the span of Head's injury, but Lind's play will be the difference between predicted wins, and lost points due to an upset.

"Lindy will be fine." said Wall. "If our defense does their job, Lindy will be fine."
