Канада Chem. Valley Contaminated† - What's that? Ah -- Playoffs? Don't talk about -- playoffs?!

Well season four is almost at a close! It has been quite the year. A lot of change and new faces here in league IV.2. And with the playoffs starting this Friday we will take a look at the top eight. We will start off with Rickles HC.

After a stellar season which saw them start off with a loss to the Mississauga Lions, they picked themselves up and dusted themselves off. Playing pristine hockey they only dropped one more game this season and won all the rest in regulation. With an 8.00 to 1.46 goals for/against ratio they are planning to make short order of everyone in the playoffs. They have cemented their place and only have a No Name team in their way this Wednesday. After seeing the improvement from last season to this one, it's this writers opinion that the III leagues better prepare for DrVenkman!

In second place is the Southside Warriors. Statistically they would be in third, but statistics don't win games. Playing your all wins you games. And Jmoney really harnessed his teams skill and his skill as a manager picking the right tactics to put him in as the second seed. Being three points ahead of the Lions in third and with a game against a No Name left, holding his position should be a cake walk. Going into the playoffs as long as they keep up their tactical prowess, he should be able to keep that placement.

The third position is still in contention. Right now it is held by Mississauga Lions. With a huge boom at the start of the season they sat pretty as an undefeated team for the first third of the season. After having a rough patch Hamza's boys have been fighting to try and reclaim their place on top. Only one point ahead of the fourth place team, the Lions have the biggest challenge this Wednesday. Having to face relative newcomers The Flaming Beavers, they are looking to take the three integral points away from Hamza to try to finish in ninth.

Fourth is currently being held by the Victoria Cougars. But they plan to deconstruct a No name this Wednesday to get the three points to push them past the Lions, all things considered. Having a strong team, games were lost solely by tactics. But with the impressive numbers Cougars goalie Julian Crosby (playing every game this seasons with 93.09 save percentage) plans to take them very deep in the brackets.

Fifth place was taken over by The Moderatly Neato. After an abysmal 18th place finish in his franchises debut season, manager Aowyr has stepped up with purchases of future prospects as well as facilities and arena upgrades. With the goal to have a top five finish this season, he has managed to do so. With only a team No Name left he should retain the rank.

After a long hard battle back and fourth with the Neato, NovaCollision's Tire Irons have taken the sixth place spot. After finishing twentieth in the regular season last year, Tire irons have had the largest improvement! More or less sticking with his entire team from last year; with very few people picked up off the market, Tire Irons are shooting for a nice run in the playoffs. With only the Rink Rats standing in their way, they should be able to clutch that spot.

If Tire Irons lose though, seventh place Dragons de Montréal will over take them with their guaranteed win against a team No Name this Wednesday. After just missing the main playoffs last season with a ninth place finish, Redwing wants to make his teams presence known. With some very stong finishes after a rocky start to the season, Dragons are ready to start the playoffs swinging.

And rounding out the top eight is Les Bombardiers. With enough points that Azalichio's boys will go uncontested with this last game. Being a fairly new team and this being their first season, this finish definitely should come as a pleasant surprise. Having to face Rickles in the first round would be scary for any team, but it will have to be taken with a grain of salt. With some improvements they will be a top contender soon enough!

Well that's it for this update. Good luck to all the teams for season four's playoffs. I myself can't wait to see how it turns out. Good luck to the teams who move on up to league III. And I can't wait for next season!
