With one game remaining the Intrepids are holding onto the eighth spot over the MN Wild by two points. The Intrepids can earn a playoff appearance, their first, IF:

1 - They gain a point over their final opponent OR

2 - The MN Wild lose outright, lose in OT or win in OT

If the two teams end up tied the Intrepids own the tie breaker. The only scenario in which the WILD can take the 8th and final playoff spot is if they win outright and the Intrepids lose outright. This is a viable scenario since the Intrepids play the 2nd place Opice.
