Kanada Calgary Beavers† - Black Dragons Season 8 Preview

The Black Dragons are looking forward to season 8. They are under the new management of JBrady, who ha shown he will do what it takes to make the team more competitive. He has gone out and bought a lot of players to try and get this team into a position to battle for the playoffs at the end of the year. "We have become a new young team with a lot of potential" manager JBady said at the start of the season news conference. He then went on to say "There are a lot of good teams in this league, so we have our work cut out for us. The first few games are against some of the top teams in the division and we will not be able to have a slow start if we want a good season, I think the boys are ready to go. We have had a few friendly games lately to get the chemistry going, and have some good games, and some wins."

The Black Dragons look to have upgraded in almost every position this off season. There is going to be a good fight in the net between the Polish Dulacki, the latest goalie pick up and the Spaniard Mateu who ha looked good in the couple friendly games he has played. Don't count out Pekárek just yet as he came in and blew the doors off the goalkeeping the Dragons ended season 7 with.

On Defense their star player of Jordan Tripp has been moved down to the 3rd line to make room for all the new comers. Duna is the oldest on the team at the age of 22, he still has some learning to do, but should provide a calming veteran influence after playing in the Chech league. Black Dragons feel that with the additions of Sjöberg, Naglić, Brieška, Babić and Karila they get a lot younger, better, and could possible get a star defense man out of the crop of youngsters.

On forward, it was a complete overhaul, with their top forward John Paul Pascall no even in the opening day line up, lots of changes have taken place. "We feel we have a good offensive 1st line, and 3 more lines that can come in and contribute" said JBrady when asked about his new look forward team. The Dragons have named Dominik Schmid their new captain, and with him had looked a let better. "I have been really impressed with the performances of Wolter Vanotti, Henrich Hajšo, Franz Winkler, Nils Sandberg, Vojtěch Sosna, and Robert Selan since their arrivals, and i believe they have all been named 3 stars, and have been big influences in the past few games for us." He they went on to say that he is impressed with what Leonid Horinetsky and Lukáš Filáček have showed when given extra time, saying he hopes they keep improving and continue to help the team out.

For the Black Dragons, this is the start of a new season, and one that comes with a lot of changes throughout the line up. Will all these moves pay off? The show starts tomorrow with a big game against the Sans Antonios Stars to open to the season. Hopefully the youth movement pays off for JBrady and the Black Dragons can make a push for a playoff appearance.
