Calgary Beavers† - Wolf pack Watch Week 11
The Wolfpack have played 6 games since last release, and have to be happy with the way things are going for them. The started the last set of games against the league leading Winnipeg Warriors, it was a great game, with the warriors ahead 1-0, they surrendered the empty net goal, and lost 2-0. Since that game, the Wolfpack have only surrendered 1 goal, beating the blackhawks 7-0, brampton blitz 11-1, Gendarmes 18-0, London Soul Snatcherz 17-0, and Vancouver Canucks '11 16-0. They have also had Ralf Pollmann move into 4th place in points in the league and 2nd in goals, Bo Ellingsen and Stefen Engels are also lighting it up with Bo in 7th in league scoring and Stefen in 14th, but 2nd in points per game. Ivan Měšťánek has been everything they could expect from a goalie, posting a 95.60 save%, 0.80 GAA, both tops in the league. Their number one defense-man Ferdinand Závodský was injured during the week, juggling lines has just shown that this team can continue to play a man or two down.
In an interview with captain, Stefen Engels, he had this to say about the teams games as of late. "We have been playing well, we are a strong team, and our chemistry continues to grow and we are playing a more complete game. We still have a way to go to beat the Warriors, once playoffs start its a whole new season, we can't wait for that to happen."
With 8 games remaining in the regular season, the Wolfpack have clinched a playoff spot, now it will depend on what seed they end up in. It will be hard to catch the Warriors for 1st overall, but the final game against Kicesie and could determine who finishes 2nd in the league. The Wolfpack have a 4 point cushion on the Blakhawks, and 8 on Mighty Ducks Of Stoneham. The final race spots should get interesting for the playoffs as North Bay Wonders have lost their manager, and they seem to be in disarray because of that. This could leave the door open for Les Scorpions to get into the top 8 after passing the other team that lost a long time manager this season, the Sans Antonios Stars. JBrady had this to say about the upcoming playoffs, and race. "Anytime you have a competitive league where lots of teams are in the race for the playoffs, it's great, it's great for the fans as every game means that much more. I will not lie in saying that I am glad we have clinched a spot in the top 8, and we are looking forward to see what this team can do in the post season."
If you are looking for something fun to do this week, check out the Wolfpack's home games, Wednesday against Alchoolique and Friday against the former Sans Antonios Stars, they also play Monday vs Hardwick Hellions and you can catch that game on Olympic TV.
