Winter Arrives in the NorthWest!
Rabbit Lake has been dropped into a deep freeze and therefore the ice surface has been available for about a week now. The maintenance crews put the docks that hold the stands and boards in place just in time for freeze-up And have scraped the frozen lake clean.
Portagers at the Top of the Canadian League IV-11 Heap!
With the help of their freshly reassigned captain Branislav Chudada and lone Canadian starter Dustin Roth, the boys now stand tied at the top of the standings with a record of 9 wins and 1 loss. The Portagers have had intensely competitive league games with those Castors de Bellechasse and Capitals from Quebec City. Rabbit Lake will be rockin come playoff time!
Credit Tournament?!
What makes the world go round? CREDITS!
The Portagers have won their first 2 games of a weekend tournament (limit 30 TS) against some serious competition. The boys put the hammer down and showed some real character. Intensity without taking penalties. hopefully they keep the ball rolling next weekend. The coaching staff has assembled a 'B' squad from scratched players that will play the Portagers' friendly matches. The B squad pulled off a 2-2 tie against Mountfield Martin yesterday, a team the had no business even skating with.
Don't forget it's ladies night this weekend at Rabbit lake when the Portagers take on Miska TEAM. See you there!
