Canadá Calgary Beavers† - Wolfpack Win Playoffs

The Shawnessy Wolfpack have won their league playoffs, and will be advancing to league III.3 for the upcoming season. The playoffs started against a much weaker Vancouver Orcas who were dismantled in two games by a combined score of 27-1. up next the Wolfpack played the team they beat on the final day of the season to claim 2nd in the league, Kicesie. Home ice would prove beneficial as in the first game of the series, the Wolfpack, cheered on by their fans, won the first game 6-5 in OT. It was a hard fought, back and forth game with the Wolfpack trying to play catch up most of the game, and when they finally took the lead in the third, Kicesie was right there to tie it back up and send it to OT. In the 2nd game, the Wolfpack took control in the middle of the game to win 4-2 and head to the finals where they would meet the Mighty Ducks Of Stoneham. The first game was a solid win by the Wolfpack 4-1 and taking a 3-0 lead after the first period. Game two was a different story, even though the Wolfpack opened the scoring, they found themselves down by two less then 5 minutes into the 3rd period. The Germans took the game over after that scoring 3 unanswered goals to finish the series in 2 games. Ralf Pollmann scored the first two goals and set up Stefen Engels for the winning goal, Engels also assisted on the two Pollmann goals.
After the game, both Germans were all smiles and had this to say about the epic comeback. "we pulled on our previous games experience and used it to will ourselves on to victory" Manager Jbrady in an interview afterwards was asked what his plans are for the prize money for advancing. "We have a lot of work to do, we are trying to upgrade out facilities to attract good young talent and hopefully be able to ice a competitive team next year. We have also upgraded half out arena to hold another 200 fans at each home game as we experienced a ton of fan support during the playoffs, and were sad to have to turn some fans away as we just didn't have the room for them all."
The Wolfpack are not resting, and have started a camp to finish the season in hopes that some of the young talent may be able to fight for spots with the team next year. Jbrady commented on this saying "We have had a couple good junior players come to us to start their career, we have high hopes for Canadians Wayne Eby, Austen Dichio, Tory Beattie, Mitch King, Franklin Torpey who has been injured but we trust will be improving shortly, as well as the newly acquired Italian Max Visintin and Swiss Nathan Voyame. At the very least we have given our top guys a little better supporting cast, and can't wait to see what will happen in the Wolfpacks 2nd season and in the division of league III.3.
In other notable news Ralf Pollmann(115), Bo Ellingsen(112), and Stefen Engels(109) all hit the 100 point club with the Wolfpack. Pollmann also is leading the team in goals with 51 followed by Ellingsen at 48 and Engels at 39.
The Wolfpack are playing some friendly games over the next week with cross town rivals Mobus HC to stay sharp and prepare for the upcoming season which starts in less then 10 days. Also, come down to the rink on Sunday afternoon to get your picture taken with your favorite Wolfpack players as well as the Champions Cup of League IV.4.
