Rockwall Rangers† - Rockwall Ranger's Post-Game Press Conference 23-12-2011
Transcript from Rockwall Ranger’s Post-Game Press Conference at the Rockwall Center (23-12-2011 after a 23-1 Win versus C.H. Isotopos in a League Game).
(General Manager Nicholas Nix)
Good evening and Happy Festivus to you all, we had a great day today, and I would personally like to thank Coach Alonso for this victory as well as the players. This was an amazing game, and I would love to see all of our games to end this way. 23-1 is a great win for this or any organization. It is amazing to get 23 goals on the 23rd day of the month, it is a Festivus Miracle!
Now, I would like to give our Coach a chance to speak, Coach Alonso.
Thank you (Coach Alonso)
Q. What was the reason for this win tonight?
A. Everything, we did better in everything we were better in shots, faceoffs, and even penalties. We just outmatched our opponent in every way we could.
Q. Are you taking into consideration that your opponent’s franchise is up for sell, and that their head coach and management had been fired just hours before the game?
A. Well, of course and that probably explains this blowout. However, I still feel we would have won by a high-score without those issues.
Q. What do you think about the performance of Sala with 6 goals, and 2 assist?
A. Juan Luis had a great day, and I hope he continues to deliver, but as for the long-term we have to recognize the facts that this was a team in transition. However, that being said Jaun Luis is a great player.
Q. Sanchez, got 2 goals, and 7 assist do you think he is finally coming back around as Captain?
A. Manuel is doing what he needs to do as Captain. Being Captain is more than just being the best on the team, it is also about being a leader and Manuel I feel has the potential to excel in all those things.
Q. Does Vasquez appear to have what it takes to be in the spot he has?
A. Did you watch tonight’s game? Yes absolutely, Jose Ignacio had 2 goals and 5 assist.
Q. Well, I meant in a night like tonight Vasquez got two goals out of 23, is that reason enough to keep him in his spot?
A. Again yes, next question.
Q. What do you think about Alvide’s performance tonight, compared with Mimbrero’s 3rd period?
A. Vicente did great 8 shots and 8 saves. Ramon had 6 shots and 5 saves. So this was agreat night for Vicente, and Ramon was having an average night.
Q. Do you think that Mimbrero was tired from the last few games?
A. That may have played into it. However, I just wanted to get Ramon a little work in tonight since we had a commanding lead. I am sure he is upset with that one goal, since we could of got the shut out and put the cherry on top of this one, but hey it was still a great win, and I know Ramon is a professional and he won’t let one goal eat away at him, and he will be ready for tomorrow night’s game.
Q. Who will be starting between the pipes tonight against Brno Warrior?
A. We will be starting Vicente.
Q. Does that seem like a good choice since he started tonight?
A. I think he will be fine to start for us tomorrow night.
Q. How is Arguelles doing?
A. He is still dealing with the Collarbone fracture, but we expect to see him back with the team by early next year.
Q. This will be the first for this new staff to face a Czech Team, and to go up against Coach Zaludek how do you think the Rangers will do?
A. They have a great team, and I think we will be able to hold our own. I think we can win, but it will definitely be a tough win if we get it.
Thank you, I will now turn the mic, over to our G.M. (Coach Alonso)
Thank you (G.M. Nix)

I will now take some questions.
Q. There was a report of Vandalism at the Rockwall Center today, can you give us any details on that?
A. The damage was minimal it was just a broken window with nothing stolen and no forced entry. I would like to thank the Rockwall Police for their response on the alarm call that happened at about 10:30 PM.
Q. There is a rumor that their maybe a change up in the coaching roles, is there any truth to that and if so what can you tell us about that?
A. No comment, if such an event was to occur we would notify the press in a conference.
Those are all the questions we will be taking for now.
Thank you and again Happy Festivus. (G.M. Nix)
