Canadá Ninjas Killers† - New Season. New Standard!

After the extreme high of winning the race for last playoff spot came a low for the Petes. Even though they were expected to be knocked out in the first round. There is disappoint in the dressing room. "It's still doesn't feel good. We had a great finish to the season in last month and then we come up with this... disappointing." commented Coach Self.

Gord Kilford leading scorer and captain(injuried during playoffs) told us " It was hard watch. I think of myself as a leader on the team and all I could do was sit and watch from the sidelines. I am proud of the effort that the boys put it in to get here but, the result isn't acceptable. We are much better and I know we are going to have a great offseason... I am looking forward to next season."

"It's embrassing to lose like that in the playoffs.Yeah we were in tough but with a sold out crowd at home and we get thumped like that simply embrassing. I am eager to start the new season. But, there is alot of hard work in the offseason to do and I am more committed then ever." Seth Harrison Defenceman

And that is the general feeling around the dressing room. Bitter from the loss but, eager to fight for the title next season. When the GM heard that we were in the arena he wanted us to give this message to you from the Leadership of the Peterborough Petes:

I am proud of the boys regardless what anyone else says they played well. In, the playoffs they were playing a much more experinced team with UnknowAvs. It will be a couple seasons before we can compete with them.

I heard Brad Walton feels he has let the team down with his playoff performance. I say nonsense, even though he may not have had his best hockey he just came back from injury and the team did not help him out very much back there. Wally is our number 1 guy and I trust that he will develop into a top 3 goalie in the league in the near future.

Teams have to improve each and every year but, this year I feel that major changes/improvements have to be made. There were players that were not contributing to the team this year just taking up ice time, they will be gone and replaced with eager prospects. Some of the imports are way over paid for what they bring to our squad, they will be exported. Training Facilities were not up speed. Soon they will be state of the art. Any players not willing to put effort into the training program with be out the door.

My goal for the offseason is for our team to be ready to go full force into Season 4 and without doubt they will be ready.

PS: Enjoy the friendly matches. The lineups you will see will reflect the lineups you will see next season. Of course changes will be made but, we are hoping the top two lines will be playing next season. Thanks to our fans for supporting us!
