The Guelph Hurricanes wrap up a successful week with a 2-1 record in competition play.
On Monday, the team scored a hard fought 5-4 win in a shootout over canadiens2525. Devon Vandervies was the shootout hero, while adding another goal in regulation.
On Wednesday, the Hurricanes scored a close 7-6 victory over the Cascades. The line of Letourneau, Jay Tucker, and Martell Blake combined for 3 goals and 7 points in the victory, while the team's top scorer, Rene Gagne, contributed a goal and an assist as well.
On Friday, Jaiden Nikel made his first start between the pipes this season for the Hurricanes, and surrendered three third period goals as the Hurricanes fell 6-5 to the Windsor Redbirds. Letourneau was a one man show for the Hurricanes, netting 2 goals and an assist in the losing effort.
On Friday night, the team welcomed goaltender Artemiy Lazutin and defenceman Alexander Bagaev to the organization. The two players were acquired in order to shore up the teams defensive and goaltending issues.
