Ninjas Killers† - Young Gun: Joe Jenkins
Enjoy the special report on Joe Jenkins from Sportsnet Connected.
When Joe Jenkins first came up from junior two weeks ago coach Kittila new he was something special. “He was fast, he handled the puck like the division one danglers do. And his shot! Oh his shot! Joe has a cannon like no other,an explosive wrist shot. After practice I asked him where he learned to play hockey like that. His best response was “I dunno”. Jenkins needs some work, but his most definitely a star right now and will be a superstar very soon!” Nice words to hear from a coach. We got a second opinion
“ That kid is amazing! He is a sniper, dangler and set-up man all-in-one. Very humble for his skill level” That was Jeff Izzet on Joe. And a third?
“Everyone seems to like the kid. Plays very impressive hockey for a 15 year old.” said the Arena custodian.
Everyone we ask is amazed at his skill level. Although he has not played a competitive game yet, in pre-season action he has been tearing it up! Averaging over 2.5 points per game. Thats astounding but can the kid keep it up? We had a short interview with him, so you can get to know Joe better. Which I know you all dying to hear.
Reporter: Best hockey memory:
Joe: Playing on outdoor rinks in my hometown Dawson Creek. We had a lot of winter up there. Very heated hockey games!
Reporter: Where do you expect to be in 5 years?
Joe: I expect to wearing a Peterborough Predators jersey in Dvision 1!
Reporter:Wow. Very high goals for the team and yourself.
Joe: How do you think I got to where I am now? Hard work, goal setting and determination!
Reporter: How do you feel about your success for far as Pred?
Joe:Yeah, well. I have got some very fine linemates I give the puck and get open. It seems to be working for me nicely. Hopefully it continues.
Reporter: Haha don't be modest you have made some stellar plays!
Joe: Only when I get chances from the other team repecting my linemates Veit and Mansard so much that forget about me.
Reporter: Alrighty. Well enjoy the rest of the pre-season. Better be ready for the Regular season!
Joe: Oh, yeah I enjoy any day I can play hockey. I have been ready for this chance all my life!
Nice to hear from the kiddie eh? He sounds determined and is very charasmatic. I am excitied to watch him light it up this season! Maybe with a “C” on his chest?
