The Frostbite also drafted defenseman Glen Haywoood. "Glen is a very effective defensive defensemen, with good playmaking skills, we are excited to have him" Joe said. To make room for these additions, the Frostbite had to party ways will longtime captain and center Phillip Cook, who scored 284 goals, 416 assists, and 700 points in 433 career games with the Frostbite, as well as longtime defenseman Yusuf Pressley who scored 94 goals 225 assists, and 319 points in 368 games. "Both of those guys are going to be missed" Joe said, "Phil's leadership guided us through many of our early years, and his passing skills created a lot of goals for this team, while Yusuf was a very positionally responsible defenseman." The team also parted ways with former head custodian Zab Cooper, who is enjoying a well-earned retirement. "Zab did a lot behind the scenes to keep things running around here," Joe said.
Off the ice, the team has started constructing full service restaurants in the arena. "We thought this was a great way to make the arena more enjoyable for the fans who make our success possible," Joe said.
In the international arena, Frostbite GM Joe coached the USA U20 team at the World Championships, while left winger Damon Winstead played on the U20 team and goalie Robert Turpin played on the U18 team.
