Hi folks, I would like to address some of the disinformation being spewed by my competitor about my candidacy as the manager for Senior Team. It appears that this disinformation is a reaction to the fact that competent managers who know about me and my track record have begun to swing the election race back in my favour. So I just want to clear the record on a few of the points made that are factually incorrect.
Firstly, he is correct that the Senior Team was relegated to Division 2 the previous year. However, I had nothing to do with that. The Manager on record the prior year was neither myself nor Bobby Jay for the previous 3 years. Furthermore, I am the one that stepped up to takeover as the manager as no one else was interested, and Bobby Jay offered his help as Assistant Manager. To pinpoint the poor results in previous seasons to myself or Bobby Jay is reckless and false.
To villainize Bobby Jay as incompetant and neglectful is laughable and flat out false. Bobby Jay managed the National Team from seasons 27 to 44 consecutively (18 season). Not to mention, he has managed numerous other Nationel Teams in hockey, soccer, handball and basketball including the current U18 hockey team. He has finished with the ranks of 4th, 5th, 6th in the TOP TIER of this Senior Team. How anyone can label someone with that vast of an experience and those results as incompetent and neglectful is beyond me.
And yes Bobby Jay may have been Assistant in the 3 previous years. But noone has the right to attribute the poor results to him. Assistant is not the same as Manager. The fact of the matter is somebody else was in charge, not Bobby Jay.
Bobby Jay is the one that offered his support and advice to me as Assistant Manager. Given his vast knowledge and expertise, I did the smart thing and took him up on his offer. You could call me neglectful if I declined his offer. But I didn't. I'm committed to improving the performance of our Senior Team.
Now lets get one thing clear here. I'm in charge, not Bobby Jay. I make the final decisions, not Bobby Jay. The arrangement for this season to have Bobby Jay on board as Assistant is to allow for a smooth transition. Bobby Jay and I have had continuous dialogue throughout the season. I'm learning things from him all the time, and on occassion we have debated things. But I make the final call. If this team has poor results, you can point your finger at me because I take the responsibility. But for the record so far, the finger cannot be pointed at me.
My opposition has implied that I maintain a scouting list that is incomplete. What? How does anyone know anything about my scouting list? I have no idea where this is coming from. One should not make false and whimsicle implications based on zero information. But if he is that interest on scouting lists, anyone that knows anything about me would tell you that I am the most data driven person you will meet. My background is accounting and analytics. I have been keeping track of every player selected to U18 & U20 teams since season 37 - that's 14 seasons. On top of that I have tracked other players that were not selected on the U18 & U20 teams. In total, there are over 500 Canadian players in my purview. Of these, I have already eliminated approximately 230 players for selection to this team. This list has than been shortlisted to 80 players for imminent selection within the next 3 seasons.
If JetStar wants to call my list incomplete, voters should also then ask themselves, what's your scouting list JetStar? If you are calling someone else's list incomplete, you might want to shed a bit of light on yours. I doubt JetStar's scouting list is anything close being a complete list.
JetStar says that I am "probably going to campaign on the basis that they are currently winning in the worst division...". You know what I'm not going to campaign on that. I don't need to campaign on that. JetStar has already done that for me.
In fact we know nothing about any of JetStar's scouting lists, plans, tactics, strategy, selection criteria, and future goals for the team from his presentation. But I have offered some specific insights to mine (see below). All we know is that JetStar is offering his "complete devotion", but they are offering no other insights on their candidacy. The campaign strategy is just based on fabricated innuendo about my incompetency and lack of dedication. But no insights on his own.
Now on the matter of my lack of dedication and competency, you can assess these yourself from checking the results on the Senior National Soccer Team which I have managed the past 6 season. Canada is currently ranked 13th ahead of much more powerful teams, and we came in 3rd in the Intercontinental Cup in my 4th season, which is the best result since
season 16. You can also gauge my lack of dedication by the fact that every player on the team that I manage (Surrey Lions) is Canadian. No foreign players. I'm dedicated to National Team success by way of my own team. And my lack of dedication may also be gauged by the fact that I didn't leave Powerplay Manager and then come back, unlike my opponent. I've been here since 2011 for almost 40 seasons.
You can read my original presentation below and come to a decision. Don't fall into the trap of false narratives and innuendo that you would commonly get from political agencts.
Thanks

----------------------------------------
have realized that I would appreciate consideration to continue as the coach for the Senior National Team.
This is my first season coaching a national team, and I have been studying and getting acquainted with some of the nuisances. A big thanks to Bobby Jay for providing some guidance, and his support as assistant coach.
I've been gearing up for World Championships which start on April 20. I'm going to try to use an approach similar to what worked over the past couple of seasons for the Senior Men's Soccer National Team. Specifically, I'm hoping to use more secondary depth players in key matches to help spread the energy consumption for top players. The goal is to get the team promoted back into Div 1.
Long term, the goal is to get the team into the World Championship Top tier, with a top 4 showing by season 52. It's ambitious, but I've been continuously improving my list of potential candidates to be selected to the Senior Team in pursuit of that goal. Overall rating, experience, potential and fit would each be taken into consideration for selections.
It's only been a few weeks since I took over, and there is unfinished business that I am eager to get working on, so I'd very much appreciate your support to my continuation as head coach for the Senior National Team.
Thanks
