Canada Brampton Capitals† - Problem Solving 101

When you have a problem how do you solve it? Throw money at it! Today that's what the Brampton Capitals did in order to solve their recent goaltending problem.
During the opening night win in season 6, the first season for Brampton in IV.8, starting goalie Greg Upson fractured his orbital bone. It was only recently that Brampton signed rookie Domenic Huxford out of the academy and the Capitals felt that he was not yet ready to get starting time. Head coach Maurice Coates commented on the situation; "Domenic is a solid player with a big upside, but right now we need to have someone who has played in league play to start for us. That's where Martin comes in. I plan to split time between the 2 and hopefully get Domenic playing alot of friendlies in order to keep him developing."
Martin Elsner, who coach Coates alluded to, is a 4th year player who earned top goalie honors in Canada's IV.1, season 4. Martin, a German, came over from Canada II.'s Icemen but originally came out of Germany IV.26's HC Nordic Maniacs.
Team owner mrnegative15 also made himself available for comment on this turn of events. "well, what we've done here is give ourselves a completely different situation in net. Something needed to be done with Greg going out with an injury, no question there. I really like Domenic but you just can't expect a 1st year rookie to pick up the load and run with it, it's just not fair. Of course, now that I said that he showed pretty well for us today, stopping 6 of 7 shots. But we had some extra cash available so we decided to go out and sign Martin. We're 2 and 0 in our new league and we really want to take a run at getting a trophy in our new league. Matin's won playoff and regular season trophies with Icemen as well as individual awards. He knows what it takes to win. Pair that with Greg's experience at the top level of Canadian hockey and suddenly we have 2 top tier goalies who can pass their knowledge on to Domenic. I'm really optimistic about our future at this position. "

The Capitals have announced that Domenic Huxford will get the start again tomorrow night in a friendly against Lithuania II.1's Atleto Fortuna, sticking to the plan of playing Domenic in friendlies and giving Martin some time to join up with the team and get a practice or 2 in first.
