It is with regret that the management of the Augustiner Aces have to inform their loyal fan base that the team will be folding at the end of the current season.

Circumstances beyond their control have resulted in the club not being able to proceed with their plans for the future, and so the decision has been made to mothball the franchise.

Players and staff have been given their 4 week notice period, but have also been told they can leave earlier if they so wish. Two top quality staff members have already requested early release and have been placed on the market. All others, including all-star goalie Sam Krauser [hockey_player=3591659], will be made available at the end of the current season / start of the new season.

Captain and key D-man Kasper Noe [hockey_player=1503975] was shocked at the news, but would like to thank the management for being open with the news which has been known within the club for a few weeks already. He is quoted as saying "It's a shame it has come to this, and a real shame for our amazing fans, but there was no other choice. I'm looking forward to ending the season strongly and then I will see what options come my way after I've completed by job here. It has been a wonderful 6 seasons I've had at the club going from Div IV through the ranks up to the top league.".
