Brampton Capitals† - A season in review
The quest to sweep the IV.8 titles came up short today as Brampton dropped their second in a row to Oaktown and conceded the title.
A long season that consisted of only 1 loss ended with a dissapoint preformance on the ice today. Head coach Maurice Coates was available for comment immediatly after the game:
"We barely lost game one, so the tought was to switch up the game plan a little and hopefully catch the Crusaders off guard. Turns out that was a really bad idea. Oaktown was ready and we suffered as a result. The kicker is that we ended up taking one more shot than them, won one more faceoff and, took less penalties."
When asked how he felt about the season overall coach Coates said:
"It's hard not to be happy. We had an amazing season, developed our players, bowled through the playoffs until the finals, aquired a goalie for not only today but also the future and, we've been able to invest money into our stadium and facilities."
Team owner mrnegative15 also made a few comments:
"I'm happy we were able to have this great season. I'm also happy we stayed the course and developed the team. We are saddened that we didn't take the playoff title, but we got the league title and that's something special. We're going to stay the course and try to build this team as we move forward. One year at a time."
So as the season comes to an end and training camps start up the Caps will take it easy and play a couple friendlies before engaging into a training camp and look forward to season 7.
