Brampton Capitals† - Season 7
Season 7 was one of high expectations for Brampton. Last year the Caps tried to lock up both the season and playoff titles under their belt in IV.8 sadly, they fell short by only obtaining the season 6 regular season title and missed out on promotion.
Season 7 would have been considered a failure unless the Caps got the trifecta. The first goal, another season cup, was obtained with dominence. The Caps went 37-1 on the season finishing with 111 points enough to wrap up the league title. Along the road Wesley Inglethorpe lead the league in points.
The playoffs were the next hurdle. It was not going to be easy for Brampton as they have been known to struggle in the playoffs. Round 1 was a 2 game sweep over 8th placed Notre Dame Hounds. Brampton scored 22 goals while only surrendering 2. The semi-finals saw the 6th placed Hellish Demons, which saw Brampton score 5 goals while surrendering 3, another 2 game sweep.
Then for the second year in a row Brampton played in the final series against the team who placed 4th in the season, The Finest. game 1 was a 6-2 win for Brampton, a welcome way to start the series. Game 2 at Arena 21 was set to be a battle, but Brampton's goaltending locked down and pulled out a shut out for a 6-0 win and the Caps first ever playoff championship AND and automatic promotion.
A successful season, with a great future ahead.
