Calgary Beavers† - Week 3
Lots has happened with the Black Dragons since their latest press release. They finally snapped their 3 game loosing streak with a convincing win over the Generals by a score of 15-1. They looked to be getting back to the win column mid week, but the brampton blitz held off a late attack and won in a shoot out with Radovan Krásný scoring the only goal. They have also been busy adding some important players to their roster. Improved their already stingy defense with the addition of Ferdinand Závodský, and have been reportedly looking for a couple more defenderrs. They also went out and got a few new forwards, Ralf Pollmann, Bo Ellingsen and Intars Jasmīns. Ralf has 5 goals and 5 assists in 2 games, Bo has 4 goals and 6 assists, and Intars has 1 goal and 7 assists to help provide some much needed offense for the Dragons. The line was clutch in the game against the brampton blitz scoring two goals late in the 3rd period to force OT and get a point. They were also named to the All Star team for gameday 9 taking some pressure off goalie Didzis Kaucēns to try and win by a shut out every game.
In the weekly press conference manager JBrady had this to say about the pick ups. "We were looking good, but in our games against the Warriors and Blackhawks, we saw he needed to improve to try to compete with the big teams in the league. We had an opportunity to pick up some really great players, it has been great to see them step in and make such a big impact so quickly. They have also showed a lot of character in the dressing helping our young guys stay focused and improve their skills. You get better by being challenged and now the kids see they have to bring it to another level to compete with these new guys, I know this healthy competition will make our team better as we progress through the season."
Looks good for fans of the Dragons as their new manger seems determined to put a competitive team on the ice. How will the season continue? Will Ralf and company be able to keep up the scoring and keep the Dragons winning? Come on down to the Dragons Den arena Monday and Friday to watch the games live. The first 250 fans receive free foam dragon claws, so come down early, and enjoy the pre-game show.
