Two weeks into his time with the Steamengines - owner Himanoco cracked open the piggy, talked to the bank down the block, and maybe even borrowed some money from his Great Aunt Agnes to make some sweeping changes in Marion.

"3 and 3 in league play has been about what we expected to see," he was recently quoted as saying. "I'm not happy with it but I'm not too upset either. We're coming out and winning the games we are supposed to win and we're going to see if we can't steal a couple of the games we're supposed to lose before this season is over."

Staff additions in most all departments came with a hefty price tag but also bring the opportunity to improve quickly. Two more youths join the two that have already come out of the training center as well as vet Sami Buron, who started out in the French league and is well traveled around the Czech league. We talked to Himanoco about that as well.

"I wanted a little depth and someone to help us keep fans in the stands this season while we work on getting ready for season 10. Do I think that (Sami) Buron is the future? Not necessarily, but I do think that he's got a couple of good seasons in him and that's going to be helpful for us while we build. Right now we have a team of future prospects and while that's great for down the road, it's not too fun to watch night in and night out through the next month or two. You'll see a few more (Sami) Buron's on the team before this year is over."
