Marion Steamengines† - New Season - New Steamengines!!!
With the first three weeks of season eleven in the books we see the new things in the league and a lot of new faces in the Marion locker room.
We caught up with GM Himanoco to discuss what he thinks of the season so far after an impressive 8-4 win over the newly joined North End Kings
"I'm really excited with what's been happening with the Steamengines. We've had a total of eighteen transfers, nine in and nine out in the last two weeks and I've spent a lot of money to not only keep us competitve but to bring in some talented youth to the squad.
"It was sad to see guys like Billy Ray (Preston), Ford (Norris), Timmy (Ferris) and Justin (Acker) go, they've been with us since the beginning. Not to mention we just finished the deal to let (Sami) Buron head out and he was one of the first guys we ever traded to get. But the team is growing and to stay competitve I wanted some new and young talent.
"We've gotten three standouts in (Vali) Neagu, (Frantz) Arrault, and this kid at goal whose name I'm not even going to try (Drahomir Nadera)to pronounce. We just started a camp to get some guys a bigger boost and are hoping to revitalize Hunter (DeYoung) to get back on track. Seventh in the standings with an 8-3 record is the best we've ever been and one of the strongest streaks we've ever had.
"And I heard that the Otters lost their GM and are folding up shop which will make the outlook of the league interesting. The fans have been great and I am really hopeful that we're going to keep them coming and should do big things this season."
We've heard that from Himanoco before but this time it looks like the fiery GM has been able to pull some big deals for this team and is going to be able to build the type of franchise we've been expecting here in Marion.
