The Elmira Horse and Buggies have been unable to continue their tough play from the end of the post season last year, where they jumped two spots in the final standings to finish ahead of the Snowbirds and Schrodinger. A brand new goalie, four new players on the top line and a major line shuffle from last season could be at the heart of the problem, along with a new Head Coach, Isaac Ferraro.
"The team will be ok," said Ferraro. "We have some new players, a tougher league to play in, and a lot of work to do in management side, but we'll get it going soon enough."
Ferraro was quick to remind us of the stunning rise to the top of league IV.5 two seasons ago, where they finished 3rd in the regular season after dropping to dead last after the 10th game. The team went on to finish 2nd in the playoffs behind the Fedidit Rangers, who made the playoffs last season and is poised to do so again.
Maybe getting the lines to mesh a little bit better is the answer, but for how long can the management sit back until it starts working?
