A close game saw the Taipans edged out 2-0 and Coach Oswin of the Taipans bemoaning his side's luck.

'I thought we played well enough for at least a point today. We did well in limiting their chances and creating ones of our own. Ultimately, the strength they have on their top two lines took its toll, with good imports being able to finish chances at one end and keep them out at the other'.

Oswin's talk of good imports has led to many speculating that he is scouring the market, looking for players to bring in. However, Oswin refused to be drawn further, saying, 'My only aim is to create a successful hockey side'.

The Taipans play two friendlies over the weekend, both local derbys against the Titans (on Saturday) and the Venom (on Sunday) before returning to League action on Monday.
