Welcome the first ever issue of the Saints HC Newsletter, The Halo. In this issue, we discuss the upcoming first season for the Saints in II.3.

The newly promoted Saints started their first regular season in II.3 against Holics Hockey. It was a close affair through the first period, with the Saints slowly pulling away in the latter part of the 2nd and 3rd periods.

"We felt that we came into the game prepared." said GM saint2e, "We had scouted our opponent prior to today, and felt that we had the right lineup and tactics in order to compete with what we feel is a formidable opponent."

With a 6-1 result, it's hard to argue with those sentiments. "On paper, it looks a bit bad for the Holics, but we'd be remiss to underestimate them when we play again," explained saint2e. "We will give them the same amount of respect in our second meeting."

Looking ahead, the Saints play their home opener on Wednesday against GENEVA. When asked about his plan for the home opener, the Saints' GM had this to say:

"Well, obviously I'm not going to give away strategies, but I will say this: II.3 is pretty unknown to us, as far as opponents go. We were in III.11 for 3 seasons and pretty well knew who we needed to beat in order to succeed. In II.3, the competition is a lot tougher, and we really need to focus on scouting out our opponents ahead of time in order to prepare appropriately. You can be sure that we will take each and every game seriously, and will be looking for any advantage."

When asked about his expectations on the season, saint2e was a bit tight lipped, and hesitant to make too many firm claims:

"As I said before, we're new to II.3. Our primary goal is to stay up and compete. We don't want to regress. That being said, we may re-evaluate our goals after a month or so, depending on our success at this level."

One things' for sure for Saints fans, it's bound to be an exciting season!
