Telford Venom† - Venom welcome 1st import player
Telford Venom today announced the signing of their first non-british player. Czech player Adam Zarecky was signed from HC'České Budějovice and will be welcomed into the squad.
Zarecky has been signed with an eye on the future and will hopefully become the No. 1 Netminder for the Venom in the future. He was well scouted prior to signing and the club hope he is the answer to their long term search for a new young netminder, which their own Academy have been unable to produce.
Club sources are believed to be very happy with the fee given the players undoubted quality.
Will this be the first of an influx of foreign players or will the Venom management continue their policy of developing their own players?
The club also announced that two players will be leaving the Venom. Firstly, little known defenceman Joseph Adcock will be allowed to leave the team and an early bid has already been received for his services. Rory Byrne, will also be allowed to leave following his recent arrival from the academy.
