Kanada Breakfast Brigade† - Trappers Win Inaugural Game.

Under new management and a new team name, the Rocky Mountain Trappers sneak out of Regina with a come-from-behind, 2 to 1 over-time win.

3rd line centerman Tommy Fields tied up the game with less than 2:30 minutes left in the 3rd period to deny Regina Pats goaltender Jeff Lefebvre the shutout. In OT the Trappers stalwart defenceman Heath St. Louis let rip a laser from the blueline and beat the screened Pats goaltender to win it for the Trappers on the road.

The Trappers outshot the Pats 35 to 20 however a thumbs up goes to the Pats goaltender who kept the team in the game and almost stole it from the visiting team single handedly. He was named the first star of the game. The Trappers goalie although less busy between the pipes made the saves when called upon and was named 2nd star. Regina Pats winger Brennan Hayward was named the third star with a goal.

The Rocky Mountain Trappers next game will be at home at Summit Arena against the Montreal Scorpions. It is shaping up to be a important match as both teams are dwelling in the bottom of the standings hoping to stave off relegation. The Trappers coach has indicated that this is a must win game for the team, especially as it is the inaugural home game in the newly renovated Summit Arena.
