A press conference was held tonight at the Canadian Hockey House. Canadian Express GM Clutch Canadian had announced the club has won the bid for 18 year old Czech defense man Zdeněk Kalný for a sum of $765 769. Kalný has spent the last two seasons in Germany playing for Migl XXL where he recorded 5-17-22 (goals, assists, points) in 24 games.

"I'm very excited to be part of this team that is very deep on defense, as well as up front. I know about our goaltenders and how solid they are, I can't wait to get the season started." Said Kalný with a smile.

GM Clutch Canadian posed with Kalný shaking hands with smiles on both men while unveiling his jersey with the number 37 on it.

The media room was then let loose for some questions.

Q for Zdeněk Kalný. "What is the reason behind you picking the number 37?"

A "It was the first number I ever wore when I played on my first hockey team when I was 7."

Q for Zdeněk Kalný. "What will you have trouble adjusting to in the North American game?"

A "I think I may have trouble with the fact that the rinks are smaller, making a much more tight checking game."

Q for Clutch Canadian. "You must have found a rich pool of defense man in the Czech Republic. How did you discover this? Considering this is the 4th Czech member of your teams blue line."

A "Laughs) I'm not sure how this came about but we've put some trust in our scouts to find what they think is useful for our team and it just happens to be that we have our defensive scout in the Czech Republic."
