Kanada Brampton Capitals† - Playoff Round 1

Round one of the III.2 playoffs came to a close today with the only series to go 3 games being in the spotlight today. The Brampton Capitals headed over to the Canadian Centre to play the 2nd ranked Molson Minions. The arena was packed to the rafters, with 1400 people in attendance. The game ended in a 3-2 Brampton win with American Defenseman Daniel Peck scoring in the 2nd period.
With this win the Capital will now advance to play the number 1 ranked King M Jackson. Brampton is definatly the underdog going into this series and any hopes to win the III.2 cup will be based on how they play this series.
Team owner mrnegative15 made himself available for comment after clinching the series: "We only rank 7th this year heading into the playoffs and that was a disapointment. Last season we ranked 5th and we really felt we could make a push. This year we are pushing deeper into the playoffs and that's where it all counts. This has been a weird league as we've noticed alot of new players coming into clubs this year and making an impact right away. Teams are getting the resources to not only buy better players but also develope players correctly. I think it's alot more fuin this way, the compete level is going through the roof and even the games ranking teams are going to be hard faught battles that see the teams give it their all."
Head coach Bob Petit had a quick comment for the media as well: "Today we are happy, and we will enjoy the moment. I've been with this club since day 1 and it's really great to see that we are making progress every year. Last year we ended up 5th after playoff placement games. This year we are guarenteed at least 4th. Tomorrow we are going to take a look at the tapes, get a skate in the morning, and just put our head down and try to take game one. We're playing the number 1 ranked team, but we are going to do everything we can to win and get the upper hand in the series."
Tomorrow the Capitals will head to King of Pop Music arena to play game one, with game two being held at the Powerade Centre on Friday, with the new section open in the north east corner, the new skyboxes, restaurant and, improved media centre in the West end. This game has potential to be one of the biggest events in Brampton Capitals history.
