The Royal City Redshift have concluded their international campaign with 6 points in the 10 games. Critics didn't give the Redshift a shot at advancing, projecting them to finish last in the group. The Redshift battled hard all tournament but in the end were no match for the elite clubs they faced. Finishing 5th, Redshift fans will specifically remember a few dazzling performances on home ice. The first, a 2-1 win with a strong defensive effort, holding 3rd place finishing Ooops of Denmark to just 15 shots. Also in the memory bank are back-to-back draws on home ice including a goaltender's duel that ended in a scoreless draw against the eventual second-place club from Estonia.

One thing is for sure, the Reds battled hard. All games were respectable despite their final goal difference of -10. Scores of 1-4, 2-1, 3-2, 0-2, 2-3, 2-4, 1-2, 2-2, 0-0 and finally 1-4 provided entertainment to fans here in Canada as well as Spain, Estonia, Denmark, Latvia and Norway.

It was a tournament to remember, a tournament many players never get to play in and fans never get to witness. Regardless of their final standing, Redshift plans and fans alike can stand proud with their effort put forth on the international stage.
