The Guelph Gryphons traveled to play MrTomate and the Tomatos for their second friendly matchup of the week. A small crowd of 300 was on hand to watch an entertaining and close game.

This first period saw Tomatos come out with a 1-0 lead on a goal by Olivier Wilder. In the second period Gavin Alsford tied it and Jacob Neil added the go ahead marker. The third period saw Ian Garnett come up with 5 big saves as Neil added an empty net goal to seal a 3-1 victory.

The night was filled with ceremonies and spectacles as MrTomate and his club wanted to wish the Gryphons the best of luck in Canada's II.2 division.

"It was really classy what they did for us today. We were treated like kings. That is until we started playing the game" chuckled interim Captain Lee Nicholson. "We really appreciate the best wishes they gave us for next season and hope that they can continue their improvement and make it to II.2 in the near future as well."

The night was also filled with celebration for MrTomate. "We are very pleased to have been able to play Tomatos today as sometime this weekend, most likely Monday, MrTomate (or should I say MrsTomate) will add another Tomate to the family. MrsTomate is expecting to give birth on Monday. On behalf of the Gryphons I wish them all the best with their expanding family as well as express our congratulations" said president and CEO canucks357.

The Gryphons will now play a home & home series with Violadores F.C. once again prior to the start of the season on Monday.
