Kanada Royal City Redshift - Gryph News - Vol 5 Issue 1: Sold Out Crowd of 3,400 Sees Gryphons Rise to Two Straight Thumping Wins

Well Gryphon fans, enjoy the victories when they come. The start of this season, that has been both games. The Gryphons have now won their first two games with a combined score of 18-2 and sit atop the I.1 table. While some fans may be writing the Gryphons in for the I.1 title, the players and coaches are the first to put things into perspective.

"You can't take two games and look at it as a season. This is especially true here as we've played two teams who hardly dressed their top lineup. From here on out every shift will be a hard fought battle and each point will have massive blood shed. Don't expect any more blow outs this season" said Tim Newton.

It's true. I.1 is looking tougher than ever. While the Gryphons are better then ever, they know it will not be easy.

"We are introducing youth slowly into the lineup. New arrivals are the future of the franchise. Our veteran players will be expected to still lead the club and also develop our new talent. We are also excited by the amount of fan support. 3,400 fans showed up for the sell-out home opener and were not disappointed. I'm proud that the community is being so supportive during a time when many fan favourite players are finding new homes. The future is bring in Gryphonville. Each year more steps are taken in the right direction. This season will hopefully be no different" said Head Coach Stubbs.

The Gryphons now face les Nichol Bolas on Friday in what always prooves to be an entertaining and exciting match. Come out and enjoy some Gryphon hockey. Tickets are at a premium. 3,400 seats fill up fast! For a limited time, make it a family affair and recieve a free Gryphon stuffed toy for each child (12 and under) that attends the game.

In transfer news, the Gryphons have said goodbye to longtime Gryph Lee Nicholson.

"Lee has been with us since day 1 and has played in every league game in Gryphon history. He is a legend in this town and a hero on the ice. He ruled with an iron fist and kept the opposition in line. The Gryphon family wish him all the best and hope that he will provide everyone with his bbm pin number so that they can keep in touch when he moves to Russia tonight" said Guy Richard, the only remaining Gryphon player to play in all league games since game 1 of season 1.
