Kanada Royal City Redshift - Royal City Spectra - V1E1: Press Conference with the Media

Today we bring your the Royal City Spectra, where our goal is to provide you with inside information on everything that is important to the Royal City Redshift Hockey Club. Much of the staff from Gryph News have made the transition. This first installment of the paper will consist of a simple Q&A period with prominent media within the city, sport and community.

Double D's Debbie from Guelph asks:
Q - "With this new transition, how do you expect the players to react?"

A - "Great question Debbie. We are all professionals" said last season's captain Antoine Slater. "We play for each other in the room. We pride ourselves on being part of this organization and that hasn't changed. We are still a never-say-die team full of character."

Hockey Mom Cecile Cameltoe asked:
Q - "You have made a lot of changes to the backroom staff. Why is that?"

A - "Good question Mrs. Cameltoe. This franchise has always prided itself on many things, one of which is surrounding the franchise with great people. We have let a lot of good off-ice people go for a multitude of reasons. All I will officially state is that most of these moves were conducted due to budgetary restrictions or lofty salary requests. Whatever the cause we wish them all the best."

Full-time season ticket holder since season 1, Earl Gray asked:
Q - "How will this change impact the friendly banter between this franchise and them gol darn buggers down Sarnia way?"

A - "I assume you are talking about Aowyr. He and I are on good terms. That being said, I would not put it past him to chime in his own two cents. He is a standup guy and has a lot going for him and his club(s). There are still a few things he shall need to learn though. And that will come in due time. He wants to bring a water gun to a war I'll be sure to teach him a lesson" chuckled canucks357.

Just then his cell phone rank.

"Speak of the devil! Mr. Aowyr himself! He must be calling in because he has nothing else to do but get his fingers in on everything that is my business. One second please."

-Mumbles in the background followed by a look of shock by canucks357-

"So Aowyr just informed me that he is in the hospital. Turns out he was admitted for being seriously ill with lackanookie virus that affects many married men. To be honest, I'm slowly starting to show symptoms of it. This is serious. Everyone here at Royal City Redshift and OAP wish him a speedy recovery. He also had a question that he wished addressed to the media..."

Q(Actual Quote) - "So if the new jerseys don't work and your team doesn't perform better, what is the front of house going to do to break the cycle?"

A- "Sir Aowyr may be down and out with one of the most preventable illnesses known to a married man, but at least he hasn't lost his sense of humour. The only cycle I can think he is referring to is winning? Winning on the ice. Winning on the pitch. He must be talking about our bi-winning teams. And then you got me winning his lady over causing that dreadful disease he's come down with. I guess that makes the cycle tri-winning. All I'll say is that if this does anything to hinder the team's performance, it'll be because these fine young men aren't let alone at night by the unsatisfied women of Sarnia area" canucks357 chuckled. And on that note the final question...

Lastly, 5-time winner of the Gryphon Puck Bunny of the year Francene Falatio:
Q (chewing gum and staring at Antoine Slater) - "So uh, when will we get to meet the players. Yah know. Like have some alone time with them. Maybe like fan appreciation night instead of day?"

A - "Why not right now!?!?!?" said canucks357 all the while security had to prevent the (not appropriate word for public paper) from reaching the team at the front of the room.

That promptly concluded the media meet-and-greet. Until next time... stay class Royal City.
