GM Twigstarz woke up on a crisp Friday morning awaiting a crucial clash with 7th place SwissHabs, a side tied on points with the Starz, hoping to come out of Centre Bell with a respectable result, having lost the first encounter 6-3.

What he wasn't hoping for though was the loss of his star netminder, Denver Caven, for 5 days with appendicitis. Medical staff came to him with the news shortly after 10AM, heads hung as they knew all too well what this meant for the club.

Not only was this going to make the days match even more difficult, the timetable for his return meant he would also miss the next two matches, part of the yearly gauntlet, if you will.

rays marauders and Sangsues were next up, and those are two clubs that even a full strength club would be hard pressed to beat, although the former had been taken down by a masterclass in goaltending by Caven.

Sangsues would never have been a result, the Quebec club having steamrolled the league in an attempt to get back up to Div 1.

All in all, the timing of this couldn't have come at a worse time, with Thomas Inglethorpe still out, Elijah Bartle will be thrown into the fire, which, unfortunately, seems to be what he's been resorted to, with stats nobody wants, but someone has to suffer through, generally standing in as nothing but sponge to absorb goal against after goal against.

Roughly 3 hours remain til game time, and after this week we'll see how things end up, with the only solace being that 9th place Estevan also has to deal with their own gauntlet, so to speak, which will hopefully keep them from overtaking.

Seems there's never a dull day in Bricktown...
