The Oil successfully predicted 5 of the 8 playoff teams at the begining of the year.

The Season 3 Div I Champion Brantford Nytes (ranked #4 at the start of the season) won the league title by holding off the surging, newly crowned National Cup Champion Nicol Bolas (ranked #3). These two teams proved to be the class of Div I and are heavy favourites going into the playoffs. Finishing in 3rd was (preseason #1) The Cheetarian, a team with top notch training facilities. The 4th, 5th, and 6th place teams all found themselves off of the Top 8 List at the begining of the season. The 6th place Burnaby Cougars are perenial contenders and it was a mistake to leave them off that list. Frigid Affair made a nice jump from a 10th place finish in Season 3. Like Frigid Affair, Les Sanguinaires were on the outside looking in last year. They made nice strides this season and find themselves right where The Oil said they would be, in 7th. Mirroring the NHL Flyers, The Strippers failed to meet preseason expectations (#2) and needed a win in the final game to get into the Top 8. Can they duplicate Philadelpia's playoff success?

Payoff 1st round Predictions:
(1 vs. 8) The Nytes only scored twice on Tierney in two games this season but find a way in tight 3 game series.
(2 vs. 7) The league's top line powers les Nicol Bolas past their provincial rival in 2 games.
(3 vs. 6.) The Cougars have been playing do or die hockey for 2 weeks, they drop the first game but win the final 2 to pull off the upset.
(4 vs. 5) The Frigid Affair have the game 37 OT loss etched in their minds and rhyme off two OT wins of their own for the series sweep.

2nd Round:
(1 vs. 6) The Nytes show us why they finished in 1st place and win convincingly over a gassed Cougars squad.
(2 vs. 5) les Nicol Bolas need 3 games but they show up in game 3 and win big over Frigid Affair.

The Final
(1 vs. 2) In season 3 these two teams met in the semi finals. The Nytes won on the road in that game 3. This time around, The Nytes will be at home for game 3. In game 3, The Dominion Centre crowd will prove to be too much for les Nicol Bolas. The Brantford Nytes will successfully defend their League Title.
