Today, The Zephyr Raiders came of age.

A 7-4 win at the home of Wilds was enough to see Emeralds underdogs claim an unlikely 3rd place finish in the ultra-competitive World 1 season Play-offs, matching their regular season achievement of 3rd spot in the table.

Captain, defensive lynchpin and arguably the Raiders best player this year, [hockey_player=731413], was understandably overjoyed with his teams progress this year.

"What can I say? we outdone ourselves this year, and passed all our expectations. The team were magnificent and we really deserved it today, we came out with all guns blazing against Wilds, and they couldn't cope with us. We know Wilds are a great team but we're not afraid to go toe to toe with the big boys, as we've shown on several occasions this season. Tonight, me and the lads will celebrate well into the night. But as captain, I'd like to say on behalf of the rest of the team a big thank you to our manager, Emerald, who gave us belief throughout the season that we could perform against the better teams. Thanks Boss!!"

"Next year we start again, and we try to better ourselves, whether in World 1 league, or our own domestic leagues, we'll have to see how that pans out in the coming weeks. But today we celebrate!!"

So after a long slog in season 3 of World 1 league, The Zephyr Raiders leave the ice for a well earned break before next season, and can hold their heads high after such a successful campaign.
