It has been a very interest season for the Edmonton Frozen Blizzards; first in Edmonton.

The team lost games early in the season that they didn't expect to lose and it cost them some points/ placements in the standing but just after the half way mark the team also won a few games they didn't expect to win sort of balancing the table.

At the half way mark the team was sitting in second place of the division; which was way above expectation for the team but as we write this the team is back where we expected to be this season around sixth place. Which we should finish unless something unexpected happens. This means a top eight finish as expected.

Play-offs are not a focus of this team so as long as we have a good showing everything is bonus as we don't want to promote to a higher league when we are not ready for this promotion.

Off the ice has seen some huge changes for the team with New Coaching staff helping the youth players develop faster; which could make some of the older players expendable sooner then later. New Physio team, New Management team have also been brought on board. That being said it was never our intention to bring these staff members on so soon; which could see us have to clean house once they reach their days on team limits.

Our focus off the ice has always been building from the money making areas first then adding to the on ice growth aspect of the team. This is the long game since short rewards will only hurt the teams growth going forward. These moves at the moment look like they will hurt or team more then help the team so expect Staff to be moved out soon. How deep we cut will be evaluated as we cut the staff.

Players will also be moved but expect no major changes to the roster as we are not currently looking to add new players or move any player per say. Area we may look to strengthen is our goaltending since we had issues in the past few weeks once our start had been injured in a game. It did cost the team a few games that we could have won but at the moment we are happy with the three tenders but could move one shortly if the right offer comes a long.
