Minnesota Frostbite - Frostbite Look Forward to First Full Season
After a 15th place finish in its partial inaugural regular season, the Frostbite turned in a strong performance in the playoff placement series, pulling off back-to-back upset sweeps to earn 13th place. General Manager Joe sounded optimistic about the team's future, saying "this obviously isn't where we want to be in the long run, but we look forward to improving upon this finish next year, as well as competing in our first National Cup tournament."
Despite the team only playing 26 regular season games, several plays are becoming known around the league. The trio of first line forwards, including Clint Winters (15G-20A-35TP), Vince Mott (14-19-33), and Milton Morris (11-22-33), are turning into a feared offensive juggernaut. Team captain Phillip Cook (15-17-32) and alternate captain Melvin Bonner (10-10-20) have provided leadership and depth at the center position. Defenseman Matt Vandyke (6-9-15) has established himself as a capable quarterback on the top powerplay unit. "We are excited to be developing these kind of players, and look forward to continue our commitment to identifying and training our talent in house" said Joe.
The Frostbite organization has continued investing in its organization, hiring staff to head all of its departments, beginning an arena expansion that will have more than doubled its capacity to 950, and continued making substantial upgrades to its off-ice facilities. "Our fans are the lifeblood of our organization, and it is important that they see that we are willing to put our money where our mouth is" said Joe, "if our fans keeping filling the arena, we will keep growing it."
